Install and Register the SafeSite App

This article provides a step‑by‑step guide for installing and setting up the SafeSite mobile app. It covers downloading the app, registering using a project QR code, entering personal details, and understanding the device permissions required to use SafeSite effectively.
Note: This article describes the SafeSite installation and registration process when you have been instructed to install SafeSite and register using a QR code.

Detailed Installation Guide

To install the SafeSite mobile app:

Note: This installation process only needs to be completed once. After installation, simply sign in to use the app.

  1. Open your mobile device's app store: Apple App Store or Google Play Store. If using the app store's search system, search for Cloudscape SafeSite.
  2. Download and install the SafeSite mobile app.
  3. Open the SafeSite mobile app on your device.
  4. Tap Allow when prompted to grant access to device features. These permissions are required for the app to function correctly. See the Device Permissions section below for details.
  5. Tap Scan QR Code. Use your device’s camera to scan the QR code provided by your supervisor or site administrator. If prompted, allow access to your device’s camera. This step registers you as an electronic dockets user and connects you to the correct project.
  6. Review the project information displayed on screen and confirm the details are correct.
  7. Tap Next.
  8. Review the End User Licence Agreement.
  9. Tap Accept.
  10. Enter your personal details as prompted. This includes your first and last name, email address, company, work type, and your device’s mobile phone number.
  11. Tap Next. You are now registered as a SafeSite user.
Before recording electronic dockets, you must sign on within the SafeSite app using your account credentials.

Device Permissions

SafeSite might request access to certain device features depending on project requirements. The table below explains why each permission is required.

Permission Details
Camera Required to scan the QR code during registration
Location Some projects require location tracking while on site
Bluetooth Used for projects with onsite Bluetooth beacon systems
Notifications Allows the app to notify you of updates and alerts
Motion and Fitness Some devices request this permission, but it is not currently used by SafeSite

Your supervisor or site administrator will advise which permissions are required for your project.
