Installing the SafeSite app

This article explains how to install and register the SafeSite mobile app on your smartphone.

1. Download the app from the Apple Appstore or Google Playstore.

2. There are some permissions on your phone that you will need to grant as part of the installation and registration of the app. See the Permissions Explained article for more information.

3. Register SafeSite with a project QR code once.  This will give you access to the correct projects with the correct permissions.

4. Enter your personal details.

The steps below will guide you through the process of installing and registering the SafeSite mobile app.

Download SafeSite on your phone or tablet from the AppStore / Play Store


Apple Appstore:

  • Search "Cloudscape SafeSite".
  • Download the app by pressing Get.

Play Store:

  • Search 'Cloudscape SafeSite'.

  • Download the SafeSite app by pressing Install.

Allow Permissions

  • Open the SafeSite app.  
  • You may be asked permission for SafeSite to access photos, media and files on your mobile device. Press Allow.

Register with QR Code 

  • To register as an electronic dockets subcontractor, you need to scan your project's QR code. Press Scan QR Code.

  • You may be asked permission to allow SafeSite to take pictures and record videos. Press Allow.

  • A supervisor or admin staff member at the site office will have the specific QR code for you to scan, allowing you to complete your SafeSite registration.
  • Scan the QR Code.
  • Check the details of the project are correct then press Next.
  • Accept the End user licence agreement.

Enter Personal Details

  • Enter your details then press Next

You are now registered as a SafeSite electronic docket subcontractor.

Before you can start recording electronic dockets you will need to sign-on to SafeSite.

Permissions Explained:

You may need to set certain permissions to allow SafeSite to gather the correct data about your working day.  Your supervisor or site admin staff will be able to give you more information about which permissions you need to grant.  The list below gives details of all of the possible permissions that SafeSite may need access to on your smartphone.  

  • Camera Access - to allow a QR code to be scanned to register the SafeSite app - it is essential you allow this permission to ensure that you can register to use the app
  • Location Access - some projects will ask that you allow locations from your device to be used on site.  You will be told when registering using the QR code if this is necessary. 
  • Bluetooth Access - some projects have special bluetooth beacons deployed around site that are used for specific operations.  You will be told when you are registering using the QR code if this is a necessary action.See this article on permissions for more detail on this. 
  • Notifications - some projects may ask that Notifications can be sent to your phone periodically.  Check with your project on whether you need to allow this.
  • Motion and Fitness - some devices ask for this permission.  This is optional and currently not used by the SafeSite app.
