Head Contractor Creates an Event Notification

Head contractors can set events notifications, such as a failed machine checklist, to be sent to relevant supervisors, admins, safety staff or suppliers, ensuring that prompt action can be taken, where necessary.

A head contractor admin with the the User Admin or Admin Manager permission has access to the Messaging page of the Virtual Super, where they create or edit Notifications for their project.

Some of the events listed in this article automatically trigger an Issue which can be viewed from the Issues page of the Virtual Super.  Issues can be set to display in Reports and can be configured to generate Notifications, so that the right people are made aware of problems occurring on-site.  Notifications can be sent as an email or as a SafeSite push notification.

Set the Following Events to Trigger a Notification

  • Notify on break violation: When a driver has recorded a break but has completed a load/disposal or moved more than 500m during the break timeframe.

    NOTES:

For Break Violation notifications, in the User Role(s) field - select trucks which drive on public roads, e.g. truck and dog.

Break Notification Events can be viewed in the Issues page of the Virtual Super.

  • Notify on machine checklist failed:  When a subcontractor generates a failed Machine Checklist.
  • Notify on entry: When a machine enters an area specified by a geofence.
  • Notify on exit: When a machine exits an area specified by a geofence.
  • Notify on exit from site without axle weights:  When an operator exits a load area without entering all of the required Axle weights. The number of Axles for a machine is set on the Plant page, as part of the on-boarding process.  By default, this is set to 4. (See the **Knowledge Base link below for more detail)
  • Notify on combined axle weights are overloaded:  When an operator enters Combined Axle Weights that exceeds the Total Allowable Weight for the machine.
  • Notify on truck weight is overloaded:  When an operator enters a Net weight this is combined with the existing Tare weight for the machine.  An overloading event occurs when the combined Tare and Net weights exceed the Allowable Gross Weight for the machine. The Tare weight is loaded against a machine in the Plant page, as part of the on-boarding process. (See the **Knowledge Base link below for more detail)
  • Notify on sign on not fit for work:  When a subcontractor generates a failed Fit for Work Checklist.
  • Notify on speeding: When a machine exceeds the speed limit which was set against it in the Plant page of the Virtual Super. These are typically site related speeding events.

Speeding events can also occur when a machine exceeds the speed limit on a public road or exceed the speed limit set in a geofenced area.

See this support article which explains the speeding rules in the Virtual Super.

  • Notify on GPS not enabled: Where a machine has Enforce Position Frequency set to High, and the GPS isn't working.
