Create a Site Notice or Message

Head contractor Virtual Superintendent users with the User Admin permission are able to access the Messaging page of the Virtual Super, where they can create Site Notices or Messages and send them to individual or groups of registered SafeSite users for their project.

Site Notices provide registered SafeSite users with important site information, such as safety reminders, site changes or reminders. The Site Notices page performs like a bulletin board, where notices can be added and then removed (archived) once they are no longer relevant.

Messages provide SafeSite users with one off pieces of information, such as asking a specific person to report to a location at a specified time. Once sent, messages are permanent and gradually shift down the Messages page, eventually being out of view as new messages arrive.

Site Notices

A Site Notice is a custom notice created in the Virtual Super then sent to a group of SafeSite users, filtered by their Role and/or Supplier, to notify them of any important site information.

Once saved in the Virtual Super, a Site Notice will be sent to the selected SafeSite users who are currently signed on. If they are not signed on, they will see a red dot on their SafeSite Menu alerting them that they have an unread Site Notice next time they sign-on to the SafeSite app.

Newly registered SafeSite users can access any historic project-specific Site Notices sent before their registration.

A head contractor Virtual Superintendent user must have the User Admin permission to access the Messaging page of the Virtual Super, where they will create a Site Notice.

NOTE: Subcontractor admins with the User Admin permission will not have access to the Messaging capability in their version of the Virtual Super.

Create a Site Notice:

  • Virtual Superintendent Menu
  • Messaging page
  • Site Notices tab
  • Press the Create Site Notice button
  • Select the User Roles and/or Supplier to filter which SafeSite users will receive the Site Notice
  • Give the Site Notice a Title then write the message
  • Optional - add any attachments, e.g. maps, images, documentation
  • Press Save to send the Site Notice

The Site Notice will take a few moments to send to the SafeSite users who are currently signed on to the app. If they are not signed on, they will receive the message when they next do so.

Site Notices can be Archived by the head contractor Virtual Superintendent user once the information is no longer relevant, e.g. after the date referenced in the Site Notice has occurred.

Once Archived, Site Notices will no longer display in the SafeSite Messages page to avoid the list becoming too long and important information being lost.

Archived Site Notices will no longer display in the Virtual Super, but can be toggled on to display what has previously been sent.

When a Site Notice is active, any new SafeSite users who register for the project will be able to view the information.

Messages

Messages are one off messages sent to an individual or a groups of registered SafeSite users, e.g. a Message to all drivers from a trucking company reminding them to complete a specific action before signing out of the SafeSite app for the day.

Sending a Message to an individual can be useful where the information is only relevant to them, e.g. Your new site card is in the office.

New SafeSite users registered to the project will not see any Messages sent prior to their registration. Messages cannot be Archived.

A head contractor admin must have the User Admin permission to access the Messaging page of the Virtual Super in order to create a Message.
