Senior Project Engineer - Virtual Superintendent User Role

This article outlines the Senior Project Engineer user role within the Virtual Superintendent platform.

A Senior Project Engineer (SPE) is an engineer with the ability to perform additional tasks, including access to project dockets, and enhanced editing capabilities.

To be assigned the SPE role, a user must already have the Dockets Engineer permission enabled.

The SPE role provides the user access to the Senior Project Engineer Page in the Virtual Super.

  • My Dockets (default view): Displays all dockets assigned to the SPE.
  • All Dockets: Displays all project dockets, including those assigned to other engineers.

SPE Enhanced Capabilities

The SPE role provides an engineer with the ability to perform additional tasks, as outlined below:

  • Visibility: An SPE can view all project dockets, including those assigned to other engineers.
  • Editing Rights: An SPE can edit the cost code, supervisor and engineer fields in accepted dockets assigned to other engineers.
  • Approve / Reject Authority: An SPE can approve or reject accepted dockets assigned to other engineers.
  • Bulk Approval Authority: If enabled, SPEs have the ability to bulk approve dockets assigned to other engineers.

IMPORTANT:

An SPE can only edit, approve or reject project dockets in an accepted state, including those assigned to other engineers.
