The Settings Page

Use the Settings page (Menu > Settings) to update your username and to change your password.

Note: If you have forgotten or lost your password, see the Recover Lost Password help article.

Change Username

Your username is used in forms, reports, emails, dockets and Virtual Superintendent selection fields.

To change your username:

  1. Sign in to Virtual Superintendent.
  2. Click Menu > Settings. The Settings page opens.
  3. Edit the name listed in the Name field. Usernames are restricted to a maximum of 160 characters.
  4. Click Update Name. Your username is updated.

Note: Your username can also be updated by your organization's Virtual Superintendent administrator, or any user with User Admin permissions.

Change Password

Your password should be updated regularly to maintain the security of your Virtual Superintendent account.

To change your password:

  1. Sign in to Virtual Superintendent.
  2. Click Menu > Settings. The Settings page opens.
  3. Type your current password into the Current password field.
  4. Type your new password into the New password field and again into the Confirm new password field.
  5. Click Change Password. Your password is updated. The Change Password button is active only when the passwords in the New password and Confirm new password fields are the same and meet minimum password requirements (described below).

Note: Click the eye icon to the right of any field to make its content visible. By default, the text in these password fields is hidden.

Password requirements

New passwords must be:

  • At least 12 characters long.
  • A combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

For added security, we recommend that you:

  • Do not use a word that can be found in a dictionary.
  • Do not use the name of a person, character, product, or organization.
  • Make your password significantly different from any previous password.
  • Consider using a memorable phrase.
