Subcontractor Records an Electronic Docket

This article explains how Plant Operator and Labourers sign on to the SafeSite mobile app and record a daily docket.

Before you can record an electronic docket, you need to install and register with the SafeSite mobile app.  Click here to learn how to do this.

There are 2 main steps to complete each day

  1. Sign on to SafeSite  
  2. Record and Submit a daily electronic docket

Sign on to SafeSite

Signing on to SafeSite is slightly different for Plant Operators and Labourers. Signing on involves answering a short series of 'fit to work' questions and an additional Machine Checklist for Plant Operators. 

The below graphics demonstrate how to sign on to SafeSite as either a Plant Operator or as a Labourer.

Plant sign-on

  • Open SafeSite on your smartphone
  • Tap on your name
  • Answer the Fit for work questions with Yes or No, press Next
  • Select the Plant Item that you are charging for in the electronic docket, press Next
  • Key in your Machine plate number / Plant ID into the Plant ID field or take a photo of your Machine plate number, press Next
  • Take a photo of your Machine
  • Answer the Yes / No questions in the Machine Checklist, press Next
  • Select the Foreman you are working for from the list, press Next

You are now signed on.


Labourer sign-on

  • Open SafeSite on your smartphone
  • Tap on your name
  • Answer the Fit for work questions with Yes or No, press Next
  • Select your chargeable Labour item from the list, press Next
  • Set the Date, press Next
  • Select the Foreman you are working for from the list, press Next

You are now signed on.


Create and Submit the docket

Creating an electronic docket is slightly different for a Plant Operator and a Labourer.  The following graphics demonstrate how to create and Submit an electronic docket as either a Plant Operator or as a Labourer.


Plant Docket

After signing on to SafeSite, you will be directed to the create docket page.  

Follow these steps:

  • Fill in the red fields
  • Add any Attachments
  • Add Remarks about the type of work you have completed
  • You are able to Add photos, such as work completed, work in progress, issues found
  • Review the details before Submitting this to your Foreman (the Submit button will only be available when the red fields are completed)
  • You can view the docket Status from the My Dockets page by tapping on the docket and opening it 

Note: Remember to sign off for the day once you have Submitted the docket


Labour Docket

After signing on to SafeSite, you will be directed to the create docket page.

Follow these steps:

  • Fill in the red highlighted fields
  • Press the Add Allowance button to add any allowances
  • Add a photo of work completed, work in progress, issues found  
  • Review the details before Submitting this to your Foreman (the Submit button will only be available when the red fields are completed)
  • You can view the docket Status from the My Dockets page by tapping on the docket and opening it  

Note: Remember to sign off for the day once you have Submitted the docket
